Artistic director of Fool's Cap, Vinicius Carvalho is as a director, choreographer and performer. His background mixes theatre, mime and dance. Originally from Brazil, he trained in physical theatre at the University of Campinas in Sao Paulo, then in mime at the International School of Corporeal Mime in London.
Since 2017, Vinicius has been training in classical and contemporary dance in establishments such as Studio Harmonic, Micadanse and La Ménagerie de Verre in Paris, and at the Seoul Tanz Station in South Korea. Over the past ten years, he has presented his work in Europe, in the United States, Brazil, India and South Korea. He is engaged in choreographic research on movement and expression. At the heart of his work: listening, precision and playing on stage. Besides the shows of his own company, ("Attachés"; "Contes & Histoires Project"; "Hans Pfaall" and "Solo de la chaise"), he has also worked with other companies such as: Elsa Chêne (Belgium) "MUR / MER"; Ambitus Theater (UK) "Love across the Line"; Action Transport Theatre (UK) “Adrift”; Les Foules (UK) "The Resources of Quinola"; Theatre de l'Ange Fou (US) "Waiting for Ulysses" and "A Promethean Dream". Teaching credits include: University of Essex; UCL - University of Central London; Physical Fest Liverpool; Les Foules; Micadanses, Studio Bleu and Drama School Mumbai. Vinicius is part of the Incubateur de chorégraphes run by La Fabrique de la Danse (France) for the season 2020/21. |
