Fool's Cap is a physical and visual movement-based company founded in 2014. Combining research, creation and pedagogy inspired by the world of corporeal mime, the work is devised in collaborative processes and it focuses on the body as a channel to convey metaphors. We seek simplicity and precision in the movement, complicity among performers, as well as the essence of the gesture, where the minimum can express the most. We have been researching a hybrid style, combining disciplines such as corporeal mime, dance and theatre.
The company has been presenting its work internationally in Europe, Brazil, India and Italy. In 2015, it received the support from the Arts Council England to create its solo-show, The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall, based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Currently, the company develops its new group piece, “Timing”.
