Fool’s Cap, company of the choreographer, director and performer Vinicius Carvalho, was founded in 2015 in England during the creation of the solo show "Hans Pfaall".
Vinicius develops a hybrid work combining movement languages such as physical theatre, dance, mime and clowning. Since its creation, Vinicius has been engaged in choreographic research on movement and expression. At the heart of his work: listening, precision and playing on stage. In 2019, Vinicius incorporates into his work the possibilities of immersive performances in non-conventional spaces. The encounter of the various artists in the creative process has given rise to important collaborations that have marked the creative path of the company.
Fool’s Cap is not limited to developing new shows; the troupe also cultivates pedagogy based on discoveries made during creative processes. In five years of existence, the company has toured in Europe, Brazil, India and South Korea, in partnership with the Arts Council England, the European Cultural Foundation, Odin Teatret, La Briqueterie, Le Centre des Monuments Nationaux, La Menagerie de Verre among others.
In 2017, Vinicius Carvalho moved to France where he installed his company. Fool’s Cap has been creating for the past five years of its existence.
