Fool's Cap is an international physical and visual movement-based company founded in 2014. Combining research, creation and pedagogy, the work is devised in a collaborative process, focusing on the body as a channel to convey metaphors. Seeking simplicity and precision in the movement, complicity among performers, as well as the essence of the gesture, where the minimum expresses the most, Fool’s Cap has been researching an hybrid style, combining disciplines such as corporeal mime, dance and theatre.
The company has been presenting its works throughout Europe, Brazil and India. In 2015, it received the support from the Arts Council England to create its solo-show, The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall, based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Currently, the company develops its new group piece, “Attachés”, supported by the European Cultural Foundation STEP TRAVEL; the Danish Arts Foundation; Odin Teatret Nordisk teaterlaboratorium; La Briqueterie, la Ménagerie de Verre; among others.
